Nutritionist, Personal Trainer, Community Leader

Education: Bachelor of Science from the Radford University in Foods and Nutrition

I’ve been passionately working in health and fitness for over two decades. Through these experiences I’ve learned a lot about myself and what my job means to others. In my coaching programs, we work to upgrade your mindset, overcome disappointments, obstacles, perceived failures, challenges and by doing so we create a sense of self efficacy (belief in oneself to complete the task). Also, by providing education that facilitates a sustainable foundation of knowledge, creating healthy habits that turn into a consistent routine and therefore lasting results. What we do together is not a diet plan or a cookie cutter workout program.

Outside the gym

Originally from Virginia, I moved out to Portland, Oregon directly after college for the delicious hippie food, circus arts, music, coffee and overall vibe. For recreation I enjoy hanging my hammock, dancing music festivals, hula hooping, hiking, and paddle boarding. I spent a year living abroad in Japan with my husband, and recently moved to the Hudson Valley area in New York. We love plants and animals! We garden, have many house plants, fish tanks and four pets. One miniature poodle, Butternut, one toy poodle, Hazelnut, one of their puppies Cashew & an orange tabby cat named Filbert.

I love working with all different kinds of people. I don’t ask for much—just all you got!

Megan uses a holistic approach to foods and Nutrition. Her philosophy is simple and easy to follow, by providing an education on how to nourish your body appropriately while enjoying your favorite foods. She reviews your food logs each week providing individualized guidance and support depending on your specific needs, Creating an individualized Balanced nutrition program that is sustainable called Intentional nourishment. it is not about following “rules” or restrictions that create deprivation— we focus on creating healthy habits that facilitate lasting results.

Personalized Assessment

During this phase, we’ll go over your past and current fitness and nutrition, establish habit foundations: goals, mindset, strengths, and weaknesses. This allows us to develop an individualized program, effectively identifying the possible areas of muscular imbalance, old or current injuries, self-sabotaging behaviors, etc. We will establish a baseline so we can track progress along all the areas of wellness.

GMT Protocols

Ground, Multiple-joint and Three Dimensional Movements

After submitting your movement screen assessment videos, we develop a specific mobility and flexibility training program for you. This is important to reduce muscle stiffness and increase joint range of motion. These exercises will improve your overall ability to move while reducing the risk for injury.

Specialized Strength Training

Strength training with free weights using a variety of exercises, planes of motion, and intensities; this evidence based approach will provide the most efficient and effective workouts possible.

Flexible Dieting

Proper nutrition strategies will boost your energy and performance, so you are always at the top of your game. My philosophy will provide you with a sense of freedom from restricted dieting, while experiencing fat loss, and increased muscle definition.

2. What are the main forms of communication between client and coach? Weekly check-in through google forms, daily texting and messaging through Trainerize app, video session and coaching calls also available.

3. How accessible will the coach be and in what format? What is the typical response time? I respond to your check-ins, text/messages within 24 hrs.

4. How many people are you typically coaching at one time?

Average clients I have is 10-15, maximum is 25.

5. Will you be assessing and evaluating biofeedback to further analyze underlying health? YES! You are not hiring a babysitter and macro-calculator. We track sleep, stress, energy, recovery, monthly cycle, bowel movements, steps (Non-exercise activity thermogenesis), protein, proper caloric intake, and more.

6. Are supplements required upon signing up? ABSOLUTELY NOT! You need a coach, not a shake. We will evaluate your needs, and if supplementation are required, we will discuss.

7. Are the workouts custom to the client or are they templates?

All workouts are customized to each individual, we do have ON-demand workouts which are templated workouts you do along with me!

8. Will you supply a meal plan or do you take a flexible dieting/macro tracking approach? NO MEAL PLANS HERE folks, I may provide suggestions and guidelines, but Wellness Simplified is about understanding nutrition and nourishing our bodies, which will be vary by individual.
